Well, alright.
1) Following Celebrities
This is probably the biggest draw of Twitter. I mean, you're reading words that a celebrity actually typed out! Isn't that cool? I love when they post pics and such, even if they're just of something funny they saw or their pets. I also like when they talk to each other over Twitter, especially when they mock one another. It's certainly interesting to read.
You really get to know them as people better by the things they tweet and such, and it can be fun. For instance, just the other day, Cory Monteith had a random Q&A where he answered Twitter questions from fans. Did I learn useful information? Hell no! But it was fun to learn more about the guy, himself.
Of course, sometimes it can get annoying when all they do is ReTweet their fans praising them. (I'm not looking at you Justin Bieber...only glancing.) All you have to do is click that *unfollow* button and the problem is solved.
2) All of Your News in One Place
Almost every news outlet that has an online website has a Twitter. That means if you follow them, their headlines will pop up in your Timeline. It's really nifty, having gaming news world news sprouting up without having to go to multiple websites. I like to add sites that I don't often visit, such as CNN and Lifehacker; that way, I can still keep tabs on them.
When I'm on my phone and want to read something later, I favorite the Tweet, and come back to it when I have time. It's great!
3) YOUTUBERZ!
Internet celebrities, especially from Youtube, almost always have a Twitter. And they have a hell of a time using it. Similar to celebrities, they can chat about whatever the hell they want, and usually it's pretty funny, especially when you catch conversations between them. Sometimes they give hints or post pics as to what's to come in their upcoming videos. They do work on their computers, after all.
Y'know that one youtuber, Charlieissocoollike? He's still charming as f*ck on Twitter. But I digress...
4) Interactivity
What do I mean by "Interactivity"? It means a lot of things. You can send a tweet towards any towards any person you follow (or don't follow, actually.) Depending on the popularity of the person at that moment, they may read what you say to them, and you may even get a reply, again, depending on the person them self and the probability they read your tweet out of hundreds.
Of course, different groups use Twitter for different reasons. IGN asked the people of Twitter for their reviews of TLoZ: Skyward Sword. Smosh finds twitter questions for "Lunchtime with Smosh" using the hashtag #lunchtime. GameInformer gave away Star Wars beta codes to the first followers that responded.
Anything can happen on Twitter!*
*Anything can't happen on Twitter.
5) Hashtags!
I fricken love hashtags. Especially when they're funny. And boy can they be funny if used right.
My favorite? #firstworldpains
6) Humor
I laugh at tons of crap on Twitter. Some are humor-specific. Menshumor, Womenshumor, Firstworldpains, and ThatAwkMmtWhen are a few. I constantly retweet stuff from them because they're so damn funny. Fer'real.
7) Quotes
Although I don't follow many of them, quote channels can be interesting. I follow one that quotes philosopers and one that quotes disney movies. Let me tell you, most of my favorite tweets are from that disney quote channel. Some of them are...deep?...when taken out of context.
8) Yo Friends
"You put on Twitter what you don't think will get likes on Facebook."
It really is interesting what people put Twitter as opposed to Facebook sometimes. It's usually complaints and in-jokes abound. But you Twitter experience with your friends depends on, well, your friends. Personally, I like Twitter for the other stuff I mentioned, but having friends on there doesn't hurt!
9) Don't be Afraid to Just Jump on for the Ride
I follow a crap load of people, but don't post much myself. I'm really just along for the ride that is Twitter, even if I'm not really contributing much to it. In other words, don't feel obligated to do anything. It's as simple as that, however stupid it may sound.
10) Don't click random links tweeted at you
Seriously, don't do it. It'll just shower you with free gifts and money, and who wants that? Not anyone, that's who.
11) Fictional Characters
You can usually find fictional characters with Twitters, whether they're official or not. Some spout one-liners, like those from Glee, while others are just plain hilarious, like Batman's. He remarks on current events while still in character. It's absolutely great!
12) And more!
There are some things I haven't mentioned, like Trends and Lists. I don't look at/use these very often, so I don't know much about them myself. Remember, Twitter can be as useful or fun as you make it to be. You're in complete control of it all.

I suppose you want me to give you a list of people to follow. I'm not going to do that. At least, not right now. Feel free to sift through the 250 channels I follow and see if any of them tickle your fancy!
Follow me! If I can figure out who you are, I'll gladly follow you back!
