Resist the Dark Urges

Alright, class. Today, we're goin' to be larnin' a bit about dark magic.

...urges. Dark urges.

What is a dark urge? It's...giving in at a moment of weakness. Some can occur within a second, while others take time to brew within their pot. Chill'un, ya must be weary and aware of'em, and ya must learn to fight'em.

Even the most good-hearted people run into interesting situations that require resistance.

Just the other day, I had my friend's cellphone in my possession while they were off doing something. I'd looked on the phone to see that an interesting conversation was on hold while the friend was away. I had to fight myself a little bit to not look into past texts to know more.

My friend would never know--they were old text messages after all. Yet, I knew not to stick my nose into other peoples' business and resisted.

Curiosity is a big source of  dark urges; when we're given the chance, we want to know more...about things we probably shouldn't. Our curiosity tends to get the best of us. It's hard to control.

The other source? Emotion. It tends to make us do or think things that we would not if we weren't upset. Whenever you find emotion ruling your thinking, step back and breathe. Do you really want to send that hateful text? Spread a rumor? Nothing good would come of it, and you'd know it, if you were thinking straight.

TL;DR (Too long; didn't read): Think through your actions, folks. Don't let curiosity or emotion make a decision without your true input.
